**SUMMARY**



Responsible for performing complex accounting duties and provides significant expertise to departmental management in order to help department achieve fiscal goals. Operates in a customer-focused shared-services environment.






**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**



Job Functions



Ensures that company financial statements and related accounting procedures are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP.



Ensure that Balance Sheet is reconciled timely and accurately. Recommend and record adjustments to the Balance Sheet as needed.



Prepare account reconciliations



Prepare written consolidated variance analysis.



Assists in managing internal and external audits; heavily involved in both audits.



Review and analyze adequacy of reserves for operating accruals.



Monitor compliance with TopBuild Accounting Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.



Assist ERP department on implementation of new software, as needed.



Maintains awareness of relevant department level service level agreements (SLA's) and works to ensure agreements are met.



Meets goals and objectives established by manager and manages to these.



Leadership



Works well with and supports other people in the accomplishment of business goals



Establishes and maintains personally challenging achievement goals and exerts effort toward mastering tasks.



Supervisory or Management Responsibility - Not responsible for supervising (hiring, firing, performance reviews or corrective action) others.



Budget Responsibility - Has no budget responsibility.



Decision-Making Level and Scope - Decisions generally affect own job or specific functional area.



Independence of Action - Results are defined. Sets own goals and determines how to accomplish results with some guidelines. Supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.

**EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS**



Minimum Degree: Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent years of experience.



Course of study: Accounting



Special Certification or Licensing: CPA preferred



Special Requirements: May work beyond normal company hours due to business/customer need.






**EXPERIENCE**



Minimum experience: Minimum 3-5 years general experience



Required Industry Experience (Construction, Insulation, Trades, etc.): NA



Legal Age Requirements: At least 18 years of age






**REQUIRED SKILLS**



Excellent written and oral communication skills



Strong technical, analytical and organizational skills



PC skills including advanced spreadsheet development



JD Edwards or other Large ERP experience desired






**TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS**

Amount of Travel Required: <10%






**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**



Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting of boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.



Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.
