Operator, Automated Line (Lab)
The Operator, Automated Lab (Lab) coordinates implementation and operations for automated sorting, testing, and storage equipment with in the clinical laboratory department. Work in partnership with Specimen Processing, Technical Operations, Biomedical Engineering, and Siemens Support teams.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Responsible for daily operations of automation and maintenance of automation equipment for all work cycles.



+ Track and report metrics required for monitoring productivity, defects and maintenance including control charts.


+ Oversee and ensure adequate supply inventory for department.



Monitor costs associated with automation operations.


Coordinates communication for the business with Siemens support staff to identify, document and resolve problems and/or concerns.


Effectively work with Specimen Management and Technical departments to resolve problems and/or concerns.


Special projects:



+ Organize and lead projects both within the work group.



Assist in the interviewing and training of new teammates.


Develop and implement Standard Work/Operating Procedures for Technical Support in accordance with DaVita Labs guidelines.



+ Evaluate technical operations standards work/operating procedure manual on an annual basis and ensures departmental compliance.


+ Identifies need for revisions and/or additional SOP's as indicated.


+ Ensures all laboratory quality assurance and quality control documentation is complete and reviewed.


+ Prepare month-end reports.


+ Other duties as assigned.





SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS


-PC skills, Excel and MS Office application


-Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Able to manage concerns of internal and external customers in a professional manner.


-Preferred: Associate's Degree or combination of education and/or experience


-Preferred: Three years of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred, not required.


-Preferred: Automation experience preferred, not required.
